Who Is God

We all have an idea of who God is. To some He is Abba Father, others Yeshua, and El Roi, Elohim etc. God has so many names and meanings because He is the true God. My true God. King of kings.

To me God is connectedness and an Artist alongside the other descriptions I have of Him.

Why? Look around yourself and you’ll see that you are surrounded by His creation. His work is all around you. I love stargazing because that brings me to even more in awe with Him.

Looking at stars just shows me His magnitude of His presence and power. Each star is born intentionally by His breath of creation and timing. With this I started to see how God connects everything.

Galaxy lovers love to connect dots with the stars to create a picture. That is God’s work. The connection points can apply to His work in our lives.

We don’t know what the bigger picture of our lives are because we can only look back in time and connect the dots. That is where we need to trust Him to place the dots in the future to create His ultimate artwork within us.

Look at the stories in the Bible. There are many cross references that connect to each other backing every story. God wrote the stories. He had people to move the pen for Him. Everything is connected and we get to see His artworks every day.

Stewardship

With the references God gives us to work with to carry out His missions, we get to be stewards.

If you think about it, the Bible and stories has been written by many stewards of His.

So what does it means to be a steward? There are many different ways of saying what it is or what it is to be one.

I like the example of running a business. Instead of thinking the business is yours, you are the one running the company for God. You are His manager to run everything. But you’re not only the manager but also the artist to create things in His name for His glory.

The glory will always go to Him. The moment you realize you are and give in to be His steward, there is just something that happens to the weight we experience. A burden of life is lifted. I'm not saying things will be easier but your experience will be different compared to a non-believer.

Outreach Ministry

There are a number of ministries that can be done. Here at REACH, we have four types we can choose from to get into.

Drug, Labour, Kids, and Campus ministry.

God Taught Me Another Lesson [Again]

One of my prayer points are that God will renew my mind but God showed me I was only giving half of prayer I should be praying.

As you pray for wisdom you should also pray for discernment because you need that combo to have wisdom work fully. How will you know it’s God’s wisdom or your own foolish understanding if you are unable to discern between the two?

Story Time

We arrange to have a braai on Saturday and we all got ready for it. I’ve set up everything nescecary to braai.

Thunder startedrolling in. Heavy water falling from the skies. It became more and more intense.

You know what, let’s be South African and braai despite the weather.

Everyone brought their meat bit by bit because it was like a river everywhere. It somehow lead up to only being me braaing. Thank you Jack for accompanying me, getting your first exposure to braaing.

As time passes, some of the guys went to slip and slide on the grass in the mud. How did it make me feel? Not the best because I wanted to join in on the fun sliding.

I was stuck braaing. But that was okay… I was filled with a peculiar type of anger of “Why do you guys get to have fun? but I’m so glad that you all are having a joyful moment!”

This type of anger was new to me. It was more of me being angry at my situation preventing me from joining on the fun.

But at the back of my head the Spirit was putting me at peace with the thought of that someone would get hurt because the sliding is hard on the knees. No one got hurt which means, I might have been the one to get hurt if I was the one to join in on the fun.

After everything I decided to go for a prayer walk which helped me to process my thoughts and emotions to let God reveal to me WHY.

What He revealed to me is that you should not only ask for renewing your mind but for renewing your heart as well. You need to have the heart for others because that is where your emotions comes from.

He was working. He renewed my mind with a bit of wisdom to realize that your heart needs to line up with your mind. If it is not in alignment then you will always be in a tug of war with yourself that can affect your reactions and responses.
