Setting The Wheel In Motion
It has not even been a full two weeks since I’ve returned home from my training and God has already started stirring the pot again. At my first church attendance since being back, I heard about a Lesotho outreach, and I just had the impulse of “I want to know more”.
I spoke to some of the people who are part of this project. In order to go I need a passport. Blikemmer, my passport expired 5 years ago. I’ll need to make an appointment to get a new one. My main prayer to God was to provide a passport within 2 weeks just before the departure if He wants me to go.
Faith Against The Current
Majority told me it’s going to take months before I can get a passport. Let alone, even getting an appointment to request for a new one. Some who weren't as hopeless in our government's system said it’s possible but I’m cutting it very fine for this outreach that’s literally taking place from 28 June.
I made an appointment online ASAP and the earliest date I could get was 14 July. “Alright God, clearly this is not the outreach You want me to go on.”
The following day I started off with a prayer that God should close all the doors where He doesn’t want me to go and open the ones where He wants me to go full steam.
Later that day I decided to clean my room... And something was just telling me just to go put the letters my team gave me after the 4 month training inside my memory box. I took the box out and opened it.
There was a green booklet. It’s probably my expired passport. Overall, I would keep it because it has the stamps in of my favourite trip. But I was wrong…
It was a new issued passport that had no stamps in it yet. When was this issued? 5 years ago! and none of my family members recalls this one. Validity time: 5 years left. WHAT !
No way, God, I asked for an appointment and had faith that you’ll provide the passport. But no, You did not only just provide a passport, but saved me money. If I had to pay for a new passport, I wouldn’t have had enough to pay for the deposit to go on the outreach. A variable I missed. This is the God I serve.
BONUS - How God Provided Even Further
In order to go to Lesotho I need to make a deposit of R1000. Will you make that deposit if that was all you had in your bank account?
Funny thing is, I had a feeling of “if you want to travel, just go before trying to be financially ready”. So I’ve put that deposit down with faith “God this money is Yours towards Your Kingdom”.
Guess what, God has already prepared a job for me to pay the deficit of that deposit. All I had to do was take the action and execute. It didn’t matter how I cut the pricing of my freelancing job from gold to silver, the total kept on resulting to the deficit number I still owed. If it’s not God, there’s no other explanation.
On top of this, when I had to go make the ring, 50% of the work was already done. Again, God preparing things in advance without me noticing.
The Morals
God will provide when you do it in faith.
God prepares things in advance while we’re distracted with life.
Whenever you do something towards the Kingdom of God, He will provide in some way when you don’t limit Him. Sometimes it’s not always the way we expect.
Don’t let other determine your faith in God. | Romans 12:2 - “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Scripture Of The Day
LUKE 12:22-34 | NKJV | DO NOT WORRY
'Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest?
Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?
“And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things.
But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.'
