BUTTERFLY EFFECT

On 11 April a team of us went out to do Kids Ministry. On our way to the location we stopped at the garage to grab something for the long road.

The longer I waited in the que to order something, the more my mind wanted to change from purchasing myself hot chocolate to “Nah, I can save this for something else later instead".”

To my surprise someone approached me while waiting for the team to finish doing their things and asked me a very specific question: “Do you want hot chocolate?” I decided to be open and honest and said yes but did make sure if she is certain with her request.

Her answer was persistent. I was expecting a small because it's out of the ordinary. To my surprise she got me a large instead. I got exactly what I originally wanted.

The following day of our outreach we went to Pilanesburg wild reserve. According to my knowledge butterflies don’t like it when people come near them. So how am I going to get a decent photo of one?

There was this beautiful butterfly standing on the rock and I thought this is my chance. Unfortunately feeling too shy in the moment to tell the people I want to take a photo of the butterfly caused me to sacrifice this opportunity.

I was a bit down knowing not being verbal enough was the cost. Moments later during this small bit of quiet time I found another butterfly landing. Alright God, I’ll make use of this opportunity to take the photo I wanted earlier.

How blessed can one be if you can get right up close to almost touching the wings of a butterfly. In this very moment I clicked; God answered me. I took my photos and a video even though it's not the best, it's something to remember this moment by.

The moments when I almost lost my balance the butterfly flinched. Yet it did not fly away untill I was done. This showed me God has control over all things.

HOW I SAW GOD WORKING

God spoke to me in the very end. He will fulfill your desires and surprise you with what you thought you didn’t desire that badly… He’ll provide. In His will of course.

He provided me with a hot chocolate which was the first step of this message. The butterfly is what made the final click. I had such a desire of wanting to connect and see God’s creations. Therefore He responded to this very small mustard seed faith because it was in His will.

Another lesson is that God will re-represent the missed opportunity to you again. We just need to be open to see them and grasp them in that very moment that God is giving us. We just need to take it. It is a blessing from Him. Just like what He did on the cross for us taking on all of our sins so that we can be with Him in the Kingdom of God.
