My Next Phase In Life Is Approaching
PHASE 01 to 02

I’ll be spending 4 months away from my home town where I grew up in. Born and raised in one area and now I’ll be leaving it behind.
I’ve never been seperated from the people I know for longer than 2 weeks making this excursion feel unreal. 9 times longer!
I’m turning 24 this year so WHY now? I graduated in 2019, then lockdown happened. I’m not blaming 2020 but I believe that it has altered our mental stability at some extent therefore the past 4 years has been a preperation for this very moment.
So how did I get to this chapter?
2020 we all know what happened
End 2022 I finished my jewellery manufacturing studies.
2023, My knee popped and I kneeded surgery for everything that makes a knee work properly. That recovery takes minimum 1 year.
Last year 2024 I learned plenty. Commuting, having a 9-5 job joining the rat race, making mistakes. Feeling like a failure. Being too hard on myself. I was in a deep rut.
These points deserve their own content for elaboration.
So where does the 4 months for this year fit in? Glad you asked.
On fathers day last year some old random ship dockt at Cape Town’s harbour.
Little did I know it would bring me to this very moment. XD
It was the Logos Hope ship that initiated the feeling of going into this very direction. God has a way to put you where He wants you to go in His humourus way.
I first need to obtain missionairy training which is called REACH. The purpose of REACH, led by Operation Mobilasation, OM, is to equip people to become well, missionaries. This contains being a follower of Jesus, the understanding of being a Christian, the correct way of doing discipleship…
Basically becoming a City Changer to impact our world.
I have done courses but this is completely different to what I’ve done before. Going away for these 4 months will change me as a person completely from who I am today. I’ll be deep diving into the Word of God. That is the one thing I’ve been struggling for years. My relationship with God has been ebs and flows but I’ve only been backsliding further than getting closer to Him lately.
So Timo, why do you not fix it where you are now currently? Then you don’t have to go into the extreme. That is a very very good point you have there. It is because of all my excuses I make to myself. Falling for the old habits over and over which gets harder to over write cause of the lack of self discipline. Drastic change is needed to press the rewire button.
I know deep inside of of me this route is the way I have to go. Change of environment, restrictions, unfamiliarity, I am submerging myself in the deep end that I should’ve gone. But I did not, therefore I doing it now. The best time to plant a tree is 30 years ago. The second best is the present.
Also, I want to take the fastest route to rewire myself to the correct points of changing my mindset into a God serving one.
In order for me to embark on this journey, I decided to start a campaign. I want to get as much support as I can in as many ways as possible without spreading myself too thin.
If you have a pull to wanting to make an impact on our world remotely without needing to dedicate 4 months of your time. You're in luck.
There are various ways for you to support me on this journey.
There are three ways
You'll find information to contribute financially to your liking. There is an anonymous option if you prefer your privacy.
If you want to take a route that does not impact your wallet; Sharing the campaign's link [https://backabuddy.co.za/campaign/reach-training] with someone who you think would be willing to support. A friend of a friend or just someone who you know that will be interested.
Sign up to my newsletter if you'd like to get updates of my journey. Also linked below. I'll be sending updates via writing and some in video format. Tim Tangents is the best place for all rounders because I'll be linking everything on my site.
Those are the simple ways to help me on this journey.
My funding target is R30’000, excluding the extra costs of flight tickets etc.
On that note;
Thank you to those who have already contributed to cover the flight and logistic costs and more. I appreciate it immensely.
I'm looking forward to having you on board with me on this adventure. I'll be flying to Pretoria on 8 February to get my training and will be coming back home after 7 June. I have plans for afterwards like potentially joining the Logos Hope for a year. I highly recommend to stick around to see where this journey takes me.
I'll see you in the next one.
